40.2MP APS-C Camera with a Film Simulation Dial
Overview
The FUJIFILM X-T50 puts the 40.2MP sensor and seven stops of in-body stabilisation of the X-T5 into a smaller, lighter body, and replaces one of the top dials with something no other camera has: a dedicated Film Simulation dial. The colour is chosen by hand before the shot, which is exactly how Fujifilm's colour science is meant to be used.
Key features
Resolution and stabilisation
- 40.2MP X-Trans CMOS 5 HR sensor: 23.5 x 15.7 mm APS-C, the same sensor as the X-T5.
- 5-axis in-body stabilisation, 7.0 stops: rare in a body this size, and what makes 40 megapixels practical hand-held.
- X-Processor 5, with ISO 125-12800 standard.
The Film Simulation dial
- A dial for colour: twenty Film Simulation modes, including REALA ACE, chosen without entering a menu.
- Colour before the shot: the JPEG comes out finished, which removes the editing step entirely for most photographs.
Viewing and speed
- 0.39in OLED viewfinder, 2.36 million dots, 100% coverage.
- 3.0in tilting touchscreen, approx. 1.84 million dots.
- Up to 20fps with the electronic shutter (1.29x crop), 168 JPEG frames.
