Full-Frame F4 Power Zoom for Serious Video Work
Overview
The Sony FE PZ 28-135mm F4 G OSS is a cine-oriented power zoom for full-frame E-mount. It weighs 1215 g without the tripod mount and takes 95 mm filters, which tells you what it is: a lens built to sit on a rig, not in a jacket pocket.
Key features
A cine zoom in E-mount
- 28-135mm at a constant F4: a 4.8x range with no exposure shift.
- Powered and manual zoom: constant-speed motorised moves, or the manual ring when you want to feel it.
- Internal zoom and focus: the length does not change, so the rig stays balanced and the matte box stays aligned.
Optics and stabilisation
- 18 elements in 12 groups.
- Optical SteadyShot built into the lens, which matters on bodies without in-body stabilisation.
- 9-blade circular aperture.
Built for the set
- Independent zoom, focus and iris rings, each with a proper throw.
- 95 mm filter thread and a supplied square bayonet hood (ALC-SH135).
- Detachable tripod mount: the lens carries the weight, not the camera lens mount.
